Terms of use

The fine print

BumbleBee is a free, local-first tool offered as-is. By installing and using it, you agree to the terms below.

Last updated: 2026

1. What BumbleBee is

BumbleBee is a Chrome extension that helps you find, evaluate and apply to jobs. It runs on your device and uses an AI provider of your choice via your own credentials. It is provided free of charge.

2. Bring your own AI

You supply your own API key or account for Anthropic (Claude), GitHub Copilot, or GitHub Models. Your use of those services is governed by their respective terms. Note that driving GitHub Copilot outside an official editor may be unsupported by GitHub and could violate the Copilot Terms of Service; GitHub Models is the sanctioned alternative. You are responsible for staying within your providers' terms and rate limits, and for any usage costs they charge.

3. You are responsible for your applications

BumbleBee assists with drafting and form-filling, but you remain in control. It never submits an application without your explicit confirmation. You are responsible for reviewing every résumé, cover letter and form field for accuracy and truthfulness before submitting, and for complying with the terms of the job boards and employers you interact with.

4. Acceptable use

Use BumbleBee lawfully and respect the terms of the websites you visit. Do not use it to submit false information, to spam employers, or to circumvent a site's access controls. BumbleBee deliberately refuses to act on sensitive origins (banking, healthcare, government, auth) and to store government-ID or financial data.

5. No warranty

BumbleBee is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. AI output can be wrong or incomplete; automated form-filling can misread a page. Always verify before you rely on it.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the author is not liable for any damages arising from your use of BumbleBee, including missed opportunities, errors in submitted applications, or provider charges.

7. Changes

These terms may be updated; the current version is always posted here. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
